Decide where you stand

So often we get taught not to go into extremes. And let me tell you I feel that that is a good advice for many areas of life!

However there is an area of life that affects every other area, where I feel this is not the right way to go about.

Let me tell you a story:

There is a guy walking on a high broad wall… taking a stroll during a beautiful summer day and enjoying the landscape around. On the one hand side of the wall there is a beautiful forest… tall conifers, shade underneath and meadows in between the trees. The other side shows a beautiful open area… a fantastic view… open grass areas… an occasional old oak tree. So breathing the summer breezed air, he enjoys every moment of it. Then he comes to a place on the wall…a guy sitting on a rock smoking a pipe on the forest side… an ongoing party on the other. The guy sitting on the rock in the forest seems calm and relaxed. The people having a party on the other side …they are just different. It seems to be a party with joy…I mean true joy, love and peace at the same time. However when they see the guy on the wall, they come over and ask him… almost plead with him to come down off that wall and join them. That seems strange to him, as they seem to have a great time without him already… and he thinks it strange and so he asks the guy on the other side about this: “Why is it that those having a party on the other side plead with me to come and join them and to come off this wall. And you are sitting here all at rest and don’t even feel the need to invite me to come and join you?” The man replies: “I own the wall.”

The bible is very clear that in the heavenly realm there is no grey area. If we do not decide to be FOR God, then we are against Him.

Many people are deceived by thinking a moderate and liberal view on Christianity is the best way to go about. Let me tell you… Jesus wasn’t liberal or moderate. Our GOD is a holy God, a God of love but also a just God. He is creator, so He sets the rules…and they have been set.

You have to decide. No one can decide for you…no one should push you into a decision you don’t want to take…but by deciding not to decide…you are already making a choice.

Decide whose side you want to be on…decide still today…think about it earnestly…be honest to yourself…and when you make a choice…make it wholeheartedly!

Many Christians think they have chosen already… if you are a Christian… look at your life. Has your choice changed your life? Do the people around you notice you are different? Do you fear GOD, or do you fear man? Is your life a sanctified life?

God bless you!

The truth about Halloween

Halloween is a much known festival in Germany today. But where did it originally come from?

On the night of October 31st, people dress up as ghosts, mummies, witches or demons.

This tradition comes from an ancient Celtic pagan’s festival known as Samhein. People thought that the ghosts of the dead come back to visit the living and haunt them on this day. They believed the ghosts could kill them, make them sick or bring bad fortune to their families. To calm Samhein, the god of death, witches and fortune-tellers went from house to house and demanded an offering, sometimes even a human sacrifice for Samhein.

They carried animal masks and lanterns with candles made from the human fat of prior sacrifices. The beet represented the ghosts that cursed the living. If people didn’t give a sacrifice, they cursed the house and marked it with the blood of an animal.

From this belief originated the slogan `trick or treat´. This means, that either you give something to please the person, or they play a trick on you.

When this tradition came to America the beet was replaced by the pumpkin.

October 31st also is the New Years Day of the witch calendar and one of the most important witch Sabbaths. During this night, still today, human sacrifices are made in the US and Australia.

Halloween is more than a spooky fun festival. It is still today a demonic ritual.

Spending time…

How much time have you spent…

–         working

–         with friends

–         watching TV or in front of the pc

–         eating, drinking, sleeping

–         doing sport

–         on the phone, writing sms

–         playing games

–         complaining, gossiping, bragging

–         dreaming without knowing where to start

–         hoping and despairing

–         envisioning

–         making un-kept promises

–         thinking you are insufficient?

STOP.

When last have you…

–         spent some quality time with friends

–         had a lovely meal

–         a warm bath – just because you can

–         enough sleep

–         looked at nature and been in awe of GOD

–         prayed

–         read your bible

–         spent time with GOD

–         loved like JESUS … like there was no tomorrow but eternity waiting

–         asked forgiveness and said you are sorry

–         repented, eyes full of tears, on your knees before GOD

–         spent a night in prayer

–         told someone about JESUS?

EXACTLY.

I guess you are starting to see where I am heading!

Most people feel, like they are missing out. It is the stuff of the first list, they relate to. Are you one of them? And then they’d laugh about the second list, as they’d agree with some of the stuff and think the GOD-stuff ridiculous.

Well, if you are… feel invited to read on – this is for you!

If you are not… if you are just a Christian who feels he/she hit rock bottom and would just finally need some REST…then this is for you too

The quality of life doesn’t get determined by the things we do or do not get to… it is determined by the perspective we have on it… by the dimension we live in and by our focus and the sense that that focus gives our lives!

Try focussing on things one at a time.

What are you living for? Is it really … are you sure… make sure.

Will this give you peace beyond understanding … joy independent of circumstances… and unconditional love? If so… it is worth it. If not so… then be sure, you will continue longing…it will never be enough.

In case you were wondering who could give the above mentioned requirements… JESUS can.

IF you make him LORD in your life!

Perhaps Jesus is Lord in your life… then as yourself the questions in the second block…they will help you get back on track.

After you found out what you are living for… try to focus… not on the dreams that go with it… but on each single step up the hill that lies before you… upon the flowers and grasses next to the path you take… on the air you breathe and on the beauty that lies ahead.

Then walk it… step by step. But never forget… it is not about the things of the way… it is about the relationship… the focus on the One, that is the centre of it all. It is about knowing Him…seeking Him…feeling his heartbeat and sharing in His mind and heart. It is not about you.

We often make the mistake to make it all about us. It is all about HIM. HE is LORD. HE is JESUS.

You think I’m not speaking the truth… then give it an honest and full-hearted try and experience it for yourself!

The Bible tells us in the book of Romans 10:9 “ if you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.“

Be blessed!

Great Things Ahead

I open my email (Thank you dear friend Joan, who posted this to me). I glance over my to-do list. I look at the appointments on my calendar. It seems like it will be an ordinary week. And yet… Something inside me, something inside you, longs for extraordinary. I tend to think that those kinds of moments just aren’t part of our day-to-day. What if it’s more that I’m not always looking for them? Or that I sometimes rush past them even when they’re in my path?

I think of the story of Moses and the burning bush. Moses is in the middle of the desert tending sheep, the equivalent of being in the middle of a work day for us today. Yours might happen in a cubicle in your kitchen with toddlers around your feet, in an airport. And right there in the middle of that ordinary, God shows up. I love what comes next…
“When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush….” Exodus 3:4
When Moses stopped to pay attention.
When he took time to notice the extraordinary.
When he turned aside from his to-do list…God changed everything.

Yes, there are seasons when we’re simply called to be faithful, to do the simple and even unnoticed. But you just never know when it’s going to be your time for a burning bush moment. You never know when God is going to step in and do the gloriously unexpected. We don’t have to make it happen. We only have to be watchful and then willing.

It makes me smile to write these words.
Because our burning bush might be just around the corner.
Maybe today.
Maybe tomorrow.
Let’s keep watching, keep waiting–God has more than we can even imagine ahead!”

So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
(saiah 41:10)

Till I die I will not put away my integrity from me: Job 27:5
